Hot Green Waffle

Serves 4

YOU NEED:

1 cup split green gram soaked for 3 hours

3 green chillies roughly chopped

2 tbsp. grated carrot

1” ginger chopped fine

1 tbsp. finely chopped cabbage

1 tbsp. finely chopped capsicum

2 tsp. gram flour

1/4 tsp. baking soda

2 tsp. oil

Salt to taste

METHOD

  1. Grind soaked green gram, chilli and ginger to a coarse paste.

  2. In a bowl mix salt, baking soda, gram flour, carrot, cabbage, capsicum and green gram paste. (add 1 tbs water if required)

  3. Pre heat waffle iron for 3 to 4 minutes and grease with a little oil.

  4. Pour a little batter onto the pre-heated waffle iron and cook till crisp (approximately 6 to 8 minutes). Repeat with remaining batter.

  5. Serve hot with mint chutney.
