Women under Stress

Scripture Portion: Acts 16: 13-15

Topic: Women under Pressure and Stress

1. Introduction

We often react to people, circumstances and experiences with anger, hurt and unforgiveness.

2. We Get What We Say

I believe we get what we say because God honors His word and His word says that who so ever believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass shall have whatsoever he saith. (Mark 11:23). In spite of the fact that I was familiar with these well-known biblical quotation it had somehow never occurred to me that the promise, in (Mark 11: 23) he shall have whatsoever he saith,  was a two-edged sword it could work for me or it could work against me, depending on what I said.

I constantly used phrases like I can’t, and I’m afraid, when God’s word told me I can and Fear not. My words were out of harmony with God’s word; I was disagreeing with the Lord until God revealed this unto me. I discovered that I could never walk with God in blessing, triumph and abundant supply as long as I disagreed with God’s Word.

So here is the secret; I had to agree with the Lord. I have to say what God said about my life. I needed to say what He said about my health, my finances, my strength, my anointing, and my power, about all of the blessings he had promised me in His Word.

To help you overcome any habit of negative speaking, it may help if you can start with this. Say these slowly and meaning it prayerfully everyday- just a few statements at a time.

God Made Me Special

How I Feel What God Says
“My birth wasn’t planned” “I scheduled each day of your life before you began to breathe”

(Ps. 139:13-17; Jer. 1:5)

“I was rejected by my family” “I accept you into my family and welcome you as my own Beloved son” (Ps. 71:6; Eph 1:6)

“I have called you by your name, you are mine” (Isa. 43:1)

“When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up” (Ps. 27:10)

“I come from an awful family background” “You are now my daughter”

Yes, if you have been born into God’s family, you are now a Daughter of the King of Kings, an heir of God and a joint-heir with Jesus Christ! What more could you want? Start believing the truth and confessing it to everyone.

(Read Jn 1:12; Rom. 8:16-17; Eph. 1:18; Ps. 45:13)

“My parents didn’t accept me- because they expected me to live up to a perfect image ideal” “I accept you just as you are. With your limitations, failures and weaknesses” (Eph. 1:6; Isa. 1:18)

Of course God receives you just the way you are. He loves you too much to leave you the way you are and will gently and tenderly change you to be like him.

(2 Cor. 3:18)

“My parents only love me if I please them or obey them” God’s unconditional love says, “I love you no matter what you look like or talk like” (1 Cor 13:4-7; Rom.5:8)
“My parents always brought up my past faults and failings. I can’t forgive myself” “I not only forgive you, but I also FORGET”

Take a hold of this one!

(Isa. 43:25; Jer. 31:34; Heb. 8:12)

“Negative words that have been spoken to me still haunt me”  “I come to heal the broken-hearted sand to release you from all bondage of the past” (Lk. 4:18; Ps. 147:3)
“I resent my appearance”
“I’m ashamed of my looks”
“I look at something more important than the outside appearance” (1 Sam. 16:7; Pro. 31:30)
“I’ll show you how to emphasize your good points, and that your negative points aren’t as obvious to others as you think” (Isa. 45:9-11; Rom.9: 20,21)
 “I’m a failure”
“I seem to be a born loser”
“In Me, you are a winner!” (Rom. 1:26-29; 8:37; Phil. 4:13; Deut. 32:30; Jos. 23:10)
“You are my masterpiece” (Eph. 2:10)
“I feel I’m of no value to anyone” “I paid the highest price for you”
(1 Cor. 6:20; Pet. 1:18-20; Rev. 5:9,10)
“I feel unworthy before God”  “You are complete in Me” (Col. 2:9-10)
“I want you to approach me confidently”
(Heb. 4:16; 10:19,20; 1 Jn. 1:9)
 “No one really loves me”
“I don’t feel worthy of being loved”
“Nothing can separate you from my love”
(Jn. 3:16; Rom. 8: 28-29; Hos. 2:19,20)

Praise God, He is abundantly able to provide for our every need. He is powerfully able to take my inadequacy and fill it with His enabling spirit. “ I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us.” Phil.4:13

Praise God, He can and will, if we ask Him, deliver us from our crippling fears. God’s word says that:  My God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19).

So, you too can change your negative way of speaking and thinking based on God’s promise. Experience the fullness of New Life in Christ Jesus! Jn 10:10, Jesus says:

“The thief comes to kill, steal and destroy;

but I am come that you may have not only life, but life abundant.”
