Planning Your Big Day

Former models and beauty queens Divya Chauhan and Vitika Agarwal are Bangalore’s most sought after wedding planners. Making your special moment unforgettable is what they do. For Divya and Vitika no detail is too small for your big day. With their professional experience and industry knowledge they help conceptualize, design, organize and coordinate the sequence of events to ensure the smooth flow of your special day. “We do not make decisions for you… We only help you make informed decisions,” says Divya.

The duo have planned and successfully organized over 40 weddings in the years since they got into the business. “Although planning a major event can be exciting and fun, it can also be time-consuming and very stressful. As wedding planners, our aim is to make your special day a perfect reflection of your style and taste while minimizing your stress in planning. We spend time to find out what you envision your wedding to be; no dream too vast and every detail vital in order to make it uniquely yours. We strive to exceed your expectations while working within your budget,” she explains.

Gone are the days when weddings were restricted to the four walls of a marriage hall or temple. Today weddings have become elaborate affairs; ones that have trends and themes ruling them. Divya says that they regularly incorporate cross-cultural ceremonies into weddings. “For example, South Indian weddings that span a few hours and comprise mainly of a muharatam and religious rituals followed by lunch, have now turned into elaborate five day affairs that include a sangeet ceremony, a mehandi ritual, a baraat, as well as cocktail evenings and bachelor parties.” She says that each day the ceremonies are colourful and lively with lots of song and dance and Bollywood flavour thrown in. They had recently organized a special Dabangg theme for the baraat of one of the weddings they planned. The baraatis wore aviator glasses decorated with hearts and danced to popular tracks from the movie.

Destination weddings, they tell, have also become a rage in India. People are willing to hire forts and palaces for their wedding, charter aircrafts and fly in chefs and decorators, just to create the perfect ambiance for their special day.

Their latest offering for prospective brides and grooms is live streaming of the nuptials. “As the anticipation built up to Prince William’s and Kate’s wedding and other such lavish affairs, Vitika and I realized that live streaming a marriage ceremony would be a great USP in our business. Hence, if you wish to, we can now have your relatives in any part of the world watching your wedding ceremony as it unfolds,” tells Divya.

Their company, DivyaVitika, is a one-stop shop for everything related to weddings. From choosing the right color schemes, make-up artists, photographers, creating a calendar of events and theme’s for the various functions, guest management, travel, honeymoon packages to providing tips on personal style statements, and lessons in correct mannerisms during weddings; they do it all.
